About Collingswood Cares

Collingswood Cares: Supporting Our Neighbors in Times of Need

Founded in 1992 by Mayor Jim Maley and his wife, Mary Kay Maley, Collingswood Cares for its Children in Crisis began as a community effort to support local families caring for chronically or terminally ill children. The organization provided help where it was needed most — from medical expenses and meals to transportation and emotional support — easing the burdens families faced during times of hardship.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Collingswood Cares expanded its mission to assist residents affected by the crisis, providing food, medication, and financial support when it was needed most.

Today, Collingswood Cares continues that broader mission — responding to urgent community needs while staying true to its roots of compassion and local support. Whether it’s a family facing illness, a neighbor struggling during a government shutdown, or residents impacted by the loss of SNAP benefits, Collingswood Cares is here to help.

Collingswood Cares is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to helping Collingswood residents in times of crisis — because caring for one another is what community is all about.
